Solar Panels

Harvesting solar energy has never been easier, cheaper, or more efficient and beneficial!

Photovoltaic technology is not new! This method of converting the sun's energy has been around since the mid 1800's.

What are Solar Panels?

Solar panels are made up of many photovoltaic cells, various types of conductive material sensitive to photons. The photovoltaic effect is observed when the protons of the light hit the electrons in the conductive material. This will collect DC energy, and in order to use this power in our household you require an inverter to output AC power.

The serious advances in solar technology have provided a new option for renewable energy that is well-suited to smaller applications as well as large ones.

Family homes can often be taken completely off the grid, but most individuals prefer to take advantage of the amazing government and Ontario Power Authority (OPA) incentives in order to bring in extra income and equity.

How difficult is it to install and maintain? How much will it cost?

Infinitum Energy offers professional consultation, sales, and installation. We are fully certified by our suppliers or manufacturers and comply with all the required safety authorities.

PV panels are mounted on various types of rails depending on your needs: slanted roof-top, flat-roofs, and one or two-axis tracking systems. The panels and rail system could be removed from the rooftop in case a roof repair is needed. The only possible maintenance the PV panels could need is cleaning them of debris (when possible) such as snow or excessive amounts of sticks, leaves or bird droppings.

Infinitum Energy provides an in-depth analysis of your property to determine the best size, arrangement and location of the panels so that you maximize your return on investment. Due to so many factors and options available it is impossible to provide one general estimated price. Please contact us to set up an estimate. There are plenty of options to suit everyone and we pride ourselves on our fully customized solutions.

What if I don't have any money to spend on a solar system?

Once again, this is where micro-FIT just fits! Of course, if you don’t have extra money lying around, you would have to find financing. The example below explains why this might make sense for you.

An average rooftop system for a house is a 5kW system. Per the official solar report we give you, you would earn about $490/month (this is the average for the whole year). If you had to finance the entire system on a 10 year term your payments would be about $340/month. At a 6.50 % interest rate That leaves you with $150/month or $1800/year or $18,000.00 profit in the first 10 years of the contract when you’re paying back your loan. In the second half (10 years) of the micro-FIT contract you would be making about $490/month or $5,880.00/year or $58,800.00 total.** That is $58,000 + the previous $18,000 = $76,000. This program is designed to greatly increase the use of residential renewable energy and with a plan like this how can you resist?
